Today is Argyle Day!

When some of you hear the word argyle, you might think of the funny golf pants that Rodney Dangerfield wore in the movie Caddyshack. Some may think of socks. Some may think of the preppy sweaters that were worn in the movie Clueless. Some of you may not even know what argyle is.
Argyle is a pattern of diamonds with overlapping motifs that typically contain an overlay of intercrossing diagonal lines on solid diamonds. The argyle pattern comes from the tartan of Clan Campbell, which originated in Argyll in western Scotland. While this pattern was used by members of Clan Campbell for kilts and plaids, the argyle pattern has been worn in the form of patterned socks by various clans in Scotland from the 17th century.
Celebrate Argyle Day by wearing your favorite pattern and paying tribute to the Scottish Clansmen!
